They are top notch in every way; responsive, thorough, easy to work with, and they have this wacky idea that a project in progress should be worked on until it is finished. As a little girl I can still remember my Dad yelling at contractors to get off his property – that their work was not up to his standard. So when it came time to do improvements on this house that has been in the family for four generations, only one company stood in my husband’s mind–Out of the Woods.

I trusted Out of the Woods because my husband has been in the construction business 16 years and has worked with many contractors – the only one he would allow to touch this house was Greg. My husband took me by to see the houses Greg worked on. I can tell you exactly where they are and even today the workmanship shines on them even though they were done 5 to 10 years ago.

Out of the Woods did a great job on our addition, both in the quality of their work and in keeping to the agreed-upon timeframe and budget. The carpentry was excellent, including some very tricky joinery where the new and existing roof overhangs met. The subcontractors they supplied for roofing and laying floor tiles also did high quality work. When a problem did arise it was dealt with very quickly and effectively. We would happily work with Greg and his team again on any future projects.

Firstly, working with you and the crew was truly a collaborative experience. There was frequent and open exchange of ideas on many aspects of the design and ideas were offered by all parties involved. Once a design was agreed upon, the work commenced and finished pretty much on time. The fine craftsmanship involved is evident in the results.

Both jobs done were the closest to a pleasant experience one can have when undergoing rehab of an older home. It is evident that you approach you work with integrity and skill and that you look for the same qualities in your subcontractors and crew.

And I keep thinking about that first floor bathroom...maybe next year.
